Connacht/Ulster 4-13 Leinster/Munster 4-10
Connact/Ulster regained the Muzza cup on Sunday last (12th June) in a
competitive game played at Spreydon Domain. We were all set for throw
in, and then realised we had remembered to bring the sausages and not
the footballs!! Thank god we were blessed with some fantastic
weather, and didn't have to hang around in the cold. Footballs were
retrieved and the game got underway soon after. Leinster/Munster
started strongly with early scores from Johnny Condon on his return to
football and Lisa McCombs. However Connact/Ulster finished the half the
stronger. The sides were all level at half time but the more
determined Northern/Western contingent crept home with victory. Best
for Leinster/Munster were Eddie Coffey, Liam O'Gorman, Lisa McCombs and
Johnny Condon. Best for Connact/Ulster were Matt, Niamh O'Malley, Dean
McAleer, Susan Murphy, Kevin O'Connell and Joe Cunningham. Thanks
again to Fiona Walsh who did a wonderful job of refereeing (we hope to
see Fiona back playing soon) and to the many supporters who showed up.
Its great to see so many new faces.
All the players and
supporters enjoyed a few beverages and a BBQ afterwards in the Irish
Society Hall. Thanks to Laoise on the bar, Anto and Johnny on the
sausages, Rory and Elaine on the buttering of the bread, and Rory's son
on the tomato sauce! Apologies if I have left anyone out. Thanks

Finally,
we'd like to wish Stevey McKenna all the best in recovering from his
double embarassment of being felled twice in a minute by a member of
the fairer sex. Get well soon Stevey. Remember Dean and Joe still love
you.
